Cue Description
The complexity of the CA’s sentences in terms of number of used words, grammatical quality, and length of chosen words.
Cue example
Well-constructed sentences with the use of sophisticated words or grammatically wrong sentences with simple short words.
Cue impact
The use of many words and many articles per utterance is perceived to be more human-like (Lortie, Guitton 2011). Overall grammatical quality of the interaction (e.g., well-constructed sentences, use of sophisticated words) was clearly associated with a positive judgment of humanness (Lortie, Guitton 2011). Long or rather short words impact the perceived personality type of the agent (Lee, Nass 2003) and are perceived to be more humanlike (Lortie, Guitton 2011).
