Touch alone might not have a significant impact (Huisman et al. 2014; Bickmore et al. 2010) but impacts together with facial expression, speech cues and empathic behavior the working alliance and emotion recognition.Temperature showed an impact on closeness in robotics studies and can be anticipated to have an impact for virtual agents as well. Initial experiments did not show a significant result yet (Chue et al. 2018).
